A website should help a person choose and buy

The main question: does the site help a person choose you — and what should change? A site that looks finished is not enough.

Why a site may not bring clients

A person arrives with a specific search. If there is no page for it, they leave without knowing the company already does this. A homepage and “about the company” do not replace a service, category or scenario page.

Even when a page exists, the offer may be unclear. It says “full package”, while they search for measuring, a quote, wholesale or a visit. Products and services exist in the work and are missing from the site — or hidden in general copy.

The third reason is no answer and no next step. The person found the words, but not a price range, an area, a deadline or what happens after they get in touch. Then the site talks about the company and helps nobody choose and buy.

What is easy to miss on your own site

  • No page for the search

You do the service. There is no page. The person searches in their words and does not find you.

  • An unclear offer

A general phrase instead of what they search for: a step, an area, a deadline, wholesale, a kit.

  • A product or service with no path

It exists in the warehouse and in email. It is missing from the catalogue and the menu.

  • No next step

There is text. It is unclear what to click and what happens next.

What to check on the site

  • What people already search for next to your products and services.
  • Whether those searches have their own pages.
  • Whether the offer on those pages is clear.
  • What is missing: a category, a service, a scenario, a condition.
  • What others already list separately.
  • What to add first — not the whole hidden price list.
  1. Searches

    In their own words

  2. Opens

    The site or a card

  3. Looks for an answer

A product, service, price, or step

  4. Finds it / does not

There is a page, or it is empty

  5. Stays / leaves

It is clear what to do

How this looks in practice

Opportunity

People search for installation and warranty repair separately.

Now

There is only an “about the company” page and a general phone number.

What to do

Make two service pages with a clear next step.

When a site check is especially useful

  • There is a site, but few requests

First see which pages are missing for searches that already exist. Not a new design.

  • You run an online store

The product may sit in the warehouse, while a category, a card or a help page is missing.

  • B2B, but the site is for retail

Companies search for a use, wholesale and a scenario. The site only speaks to retail.

  • An agency is looking at a client site

Before ads you can see what to add: a page, an offer, a next step.

What aVtonomus shows about a site

  • What people already search for.
  • What of that is missing from the site.
  • What others already offer separately.
  • What is worth checking and adding first.

What you learn

What we found

People search for a service or product that has no page of its own.

Why it matters

They leave without finding the answer, even though the company already does this.

What to do

Add a page with a clear offer and a next step.

What to do with the gaps

  1. 01

    Look at demand first

Start from what people search for — not from “it would be nice to add”.

  2. 02

    Compare it with the site

Mark which searches already have a separate answer.

  3. 03

    Name the gap

    A page, a wording, a product, a service or a next step.

  4. 04

    Add the most important one

First the most valuable missing page. Not the whole hidden price list.

Before a redesign and before ads, understand what people want to find. Adding the needed page is cheaper than remaking everything or sending traffic into empty space.

Common questions

Why does a site that looks finished not bring clients?

Because the person does not find the needed page, does not understand the offer, or does not see what to do next.

Is this a design and speed audit?

No. We look at whether the site helps a person choose and buy: pages, a clear offer, a clear next step.

Do I need an online store?

No. A services, manufacturing or B2B site is enough. A store also shows missing categories and product pages.

What if there is no site yet?

Check demand and the idea first. This review is needed when a site already exists.

Where should I start after the check?

With the most important empty page — the one people already search for.

Is this useful for an agency?

Yes. To see what to add for the client before you put ads on the homepage.
